Arkadia Space is an in-space propulsion company, developing and commercializing the most performing chemical systems using green propellants, the real alternative to traditional storable propulsion. Both HQ offices and Rocket Test Center are located at Castellón Airport, in Spain.

Sales Engineer

Responsibilities:

This position will require a high level of autonomy and responsibility. This role will be a hybrid position between business and technical skills and focused on leading the end-to-end process to fly our products into space; from understanding the client’s needs and requirements, as well as leading the contract negotiation, to coordinating with our technical team managing the AIT activities and preparing the launch campaign.

Required competences:

  • MSc. in Aerospace Engineering / Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years relevant industry experience; other STEM disciplines may be considered based on experience.
  • Hands-on experience on hardware projects, especially when related to rocket propulsion and satellites.
  • Basic understanding of propulsion, mission analysis, GNC, and their interactions in a spacecraft and its operation.
  • Basic working knowledge of aerospace qualification and acceptance testing defined by SMC-S-016, ECSS and other aerospace standards
  • Basic understanding of Payload User Guides and Spacecraft Interface Control Documentation (ICD)
  • Experience in spacecraft’s system or subsystem AIT
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Willing to travel frequently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluent in English

Desired competences:

  • Basic experience with spacecraft trajectory analysis and simulations and with the use of ASTOS, GMAT, STK or similar software.
  • Industry experience in business development activities / sales
  • Fluent in Spanish

Bipropellant Propulsion Engineer

Responsibilities:

This position is focused on leading the development of the bipropellant engines of the company and will require a high level of autonomy and responsibility. Experience in liquid bipropellant engines is required, and orbital propulsion is favored over launcher propulsion. 

The thruster products that the company is developing are market-oriented and based on green propellants (with HTP). Starting from an already working prototype, the selected engineer will be responsible for improving key aspects of the design and bringing it to a flight-ready product status. This position combines detailed design and testing tasks, constantly in contact with the hardware, for an iterative maturation process.

Required competences:

  • MSc. in Aerospace Engineering / Mechanical Engineering 
  • Previous experience in development of liquid bipropellant thrusters and apogee engines for the industry (> 3 years)
  • Experience in AIT of liquid propulsion systems
  • Good knowledge of rocket engine design and analysis 
  • Experience in testing and data analysis 
  • Coding experience in math environments (MATLAB/Simulink and/or Python) 
  • Experience working with FEA / CFD software 
  • Fluent in English 
 

Desired competences:

  • Skilled in CAD modelling (Siemens NX is a plus)
  • EcosimPro ESPSS is a plus
  • Fluent in Spanish

Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities:

The selected engineer will be responsible for the in-house design and development of main and auxiliary propulsion systems for the company’s portfolio of green propulsion thrusters, with the primary goal of leading their development from early concepts to flight-ready products. The role also includes thermo-mechanical design and analysis of rocket engine components. Additionally, the selected person will contribute to the growth and expansion of the company’s supply chain, including the identification and management of technologies and suppliers in fields like additive manufacturing and welding, among others.

Required competences:

  • MSc. in Mechanical Engineering / MSc. In Aerospace Engineering
  • Previous experience in developing fluid/mechanical systems (3 years)
  • Proficiency with CAD design of systems and components (Siemens NX is preferred)
  • Strong knowledge and experience with structural and thermo-mechanical analysis and FEA software (Ansys is preferred)
  • Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes used in the aerospace industry, including welding and additive manufacturing
  • High level of autonomy and responsibility
  • Strong adaptability to dynamic, interdisciplinary projects and tight deadlines
  • Fluent in English 
 

Desired competences:

  • Experience working with CFD software (Ansys Fluent is preferred)
  • Background or experience with novel materials and manufacturing techniques
  • Hands-on experience with hardware projects, particularly those related to rocket propulsion

Project Manager

About the position
 

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate professional to join our team as a Project Manager. You will be establishing best practices and working methodologies at Arkadia Space as well as implementing them, monitoring the various projects and the day-to-day operations, and shaping and contributing to the working culture at Arkadia Space.

Responsibilities:

  • Together with the management team, define the working framework at Arkadia Space when running and implementing hardware development projects.
  • Plan, organize, monitor, and coordinate hardware development teams for projects related to future propulsion systems
  • Implement Agile methodologies and best practices that are suitable for the organization to organize and supervise hardware developments.
  • Prepare high-level deliverables to meet the needs and requirements of the projects.
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure on quality, on time and on cost project delivery.
  • Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders, both internal and external (national and international).
  • Management of institutional projects and contracts from entities like the European Space Agency (ESA), the European Commission (EC), or national ones like CDTI or the upcoming Spanish Space Agency. From writing the proposals, to monitor the execution of the projects always supported by the technical team.
 

Required competences: 

  • Proven experience in monitoring and managing projects, demonstrating the ability to tackle technical challenges and meet established deadlines and budgets.
  • Proven experience applying Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) in projects involving multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in the English language, both spoken and written, to effectively communicate in an international environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure successful project delivery
